This piece pays homage to the Grey-headed flying fox—a species of megabat that is often unfairly maligned despite playing a crucial role in Australia’s ecosystems. While working on this piece, I drew reference from a taxidermied flying fox, one that has been with me since childhood. I am especially intrigued by the contrast between their oversized, gangly limbs and adorable faces. - Yerevan Dilanchian
